Interactive workshop to empower parents to create a safer environment for their children
Service Description
Keeping our children safe inside and outside of the home as well as online, is a top priority for all parents. This free workshop aims to empower parents and carers with the knowledge and tools needed to create a safer environment for their children, in collaboration with their nurseries/ schools. Lead by experienced safeguarding consultant Tina Pokuaah of Kesis Consultancy. Workshop Content: 1. Understand Safeguarding and Child Protection Laws: Equip parents with knowledge about safeguarding principles, child protection laws, and relevant school policies. 2. Recognise Signs of Abuse and Neglect: Help parents identify potential warning signs of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect, in children. 3. Communicate with Children about Safeguarding: Provide strategies for discussing safeguarding with children, ensuring they feel safe and know how to reach out for help. 4. Collaborate with Schools for Child Safety: Encourage parents to work closely with nurseries/schools, sharing concerns and supporting the school's safeguarding efforts. 5. Promote Self-Care for Parents: Highlight the importance of self-care for parents and caregivers, ensuring they are equipped to provide a nurturing environment for their children. 6. Develop a Proactive Approach: Teach parents how to recognise potential risks and take preventive measures, including early intervention to address issues before they escalate.
